MOUNT ST. HELEN
Mount St. Helen is the alias of Oxford-based multi-instrumentalist Aris Sabetai. Starting the project in lockdown, the music blends the love of 90s guitar music with ethereal string arrangements and pop sensibilities - all written, self- produced and recorded in his dorm room at university.
Inspiration comes from all sorts of places including indie cinema, animation and poetry through to European culture, religion and a fear of flying. Although frequently focusing on themes of nostalgia, faithlessness and loser-dom, the music of Mount St. Helen is a celebration of difference, optimism and hope.

The debut EP from Alto Alto is a five-track statement of intent, built on dynamic contrasts, textured guitars, and an instinct for balancing melody with grit. Rooted in a loud-quiet-loud tradition but driven by emotional nuance, the record shifts between tension and release with confidence and clarity. “Broken Fin” surges with restless energy, “Honeycomb” threads intricate guitar lines through shimmering hooks, and “Mediterranean Sun” drifts through sun-soaked escapism with an undercurrent of reflection. “Spanish Procession” builds with heat and ceremony, before “Lift Your Heart” closes on uplift and resolve.
